چکیده

The lichen Anaptychia fusca and several Stereocaulon species have been chemically investigat ed with regard to their content o f unknown ninhydrin-positive compounds. N ew aliphatic and alicyclic, amino components isolated from water extracts o f these lichen species have been charac terised as aminopentitol, aminohexitol and aminocyclitetrol. To our knowledge, this is the first time that compounds such as these have been found in lichen material. Am inopentitol and am ino cyclitetrol appear to be characteristic constituents o f Anaptychia fusca, whereas am inohexitol has been found in several species o f Stereocaulaceae.

Synthesis and Spectral Studies on Thorium (IV) Coordination Compounds of 4-[N-(2-Hydroxybenzalidene)amino] AntipyrineSmeicarbazone and 4-[N-Cinnamalidene) amino] ANtipyrine Semicarbazone

The stereochemistry of the actinide elements has recently undergone considerable development and a wide variety of coordination numbers and geometries have been observed. This structural versatility arises from the lack of strong crystal field effects for the 5f-electronic configurations as well as from the large ionic radii of these metal ions, which change markedly with oxidation number, ...

Metabolic Profiling of Alpine and Ecuadorian Lichens.

Non-targeted ¹H-NMR methods were used to determine metabolite profiles from crude extracts of Alpine and Ecuadorian lichens collected from their natural habitats. In control experiments, the robustness of metabolite detection and quantification was estimated using replicate measurements of Stereocaulon alpinum extracts. The deviations in the overall metabolite fingerprints were low when analyzi...

STUDY ON IDENTIFICATION AND DISTRIBUTION OF LICHENS (ORDER LECANORALES) IN MASHHAD AND SURROUNDINGS

The lichen specimens belonging to the order Lecanorales were collected from calcareous rocks in various areas of Mashhad. (Khorasan province). Specimens were taken back to the laboratory and identified. The identification of the species is based on morphology, anatomy and chemistry. They compose of  8  taxa  belonging  to 7 genera, namely, Lecanora conferta, L. muralis, Rhizocarpon umbilicatum,...

In Silico Screening Studies on Methanesulfonamide Derivatives as Dual Hsp27 and Tubulin Inhibitors Using QSAR and Molecular Docking

The expression of heat shock protein 27 (Hsp27) as a chaperone protein, is increased in response to various stress stimuli such as anticancer chemotherapy. This phenomenon can lead to survive of the cells and causes drug resistance. In this study, a series of methanesulfonamide derivatives as dual Hsp27 and tubulin inhibitors in the treatment of cancer were applied to quantitative structure–act...

Notes on some remarkable epiphytic lichens from Mazandaran province and a short history of lichenology in the Hyrcanian forest, N Iran

Nineteen species of mostly epiphytic lichens from the forests of Nowshahr and Royan located in Mazandaran province (N Iran) are reported. Three species, Ochrolechia pallescens, Phaeophyscia confusa and Usnea longissima, are newly reported for lichenized mycota of Iran and seven species are new to the province. Additionally, a short history of lichenological exploration in the Hyrcanian forest i...
